We support people in Poland in making deliberate career decisions that combine personal fulfillment with positive impact on the world.

Why choose a career with positive impact?

Over a lifetime, we spend about 80,000 hours at work: on average 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year, for 40 years. How we use that time is one of the most important decisions we make. But do we really make it deliberately? Or does it often result from chance circumstances, social pressure, searching, and what we think we are suited for?
What if we could approach it differently? How? That is the question we answer as Dobra Kariera.

Dobra Kariera - about the project

Dobra Kariera is a project created in response to an urgent need to change how we think about work.

Facing challenges such as:
- the threat of direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia,
- uncontrolled development of artificial intelligence,
- potential future pandemics,
- factory farming,
- global poverty,

we do not have the comfort of continuing to neglect whole generations when it comes to career planning.

We have tools that support shaping a professional path that combines satisfaction with positive impact on the world.
We need the talent Poland is rightly proud of, talent that expects more from work than income, to be able to face the greatest challenges of our time professionally.

We are here to clear the way for them. To clear the way for you.

We drew inspiration from 80,000 Hours, a nonprofit founded at the University of Oxford, which has researched and educated people about career impact for more than 10 years, offering evidence-based recommendations grounded in global priorities.
2023
We partnered with 80,000 Hours, receiving permission to translate and freely share their guide to planning a career with positive impact as an e-book. In cooperation with Zwolnieni z Teorii, we distributed 600 English-language copies of 80,000 Hours: find a fulfilling career that does good together with lesson scenarios we prepared for teachers across Poland.
Lesson scenarios for high-school students are also available in the "Dom Spokojnej Młodości" project by the Off School foundation.
2024
Using the WFM methodology, we decided that the priority of the Effective Altruism Foundation would be supporting young adults in planning careers with positive impact.
We trained a team to run career consultations and piloted the first dozen meetings, while also working on the strategy for the new brand: Dobra Kariera.
2025
Dobra Kariera is gaining momentum. We created the website and social media. The translated 80,000 Hours handbook is available to download for free. Our consulting team is receiving more and more applications. We have ambitious plans: by the end of the year, we want 3,000 people to read the handbook and 40 people to be selected for consultations.
2026
In the future, we would like to offer, among other things, matching ambitious people with outstanding mentors and development programs focused on specific global challenges, such as a dedicated program on AI governance.  If you want to help us with this  - support us.

Our mission and vision

We strive for Poland to become a cradle of leaders, innovators, and strategists who face the greatest challenges of the modern world and change it for the better.

To achieve this, we support people in Poland in making deliberate career decisions that combine personal fulfillment with positive impact on the world.

We create space for learning, growth, and building networks that turn ambition into action and create careers that truly matter.
