Dobra Kariera consultation - what you need to know

What is a consultation?
›It is an online conversation in which we look together at your career situation, ideas, and dilemmas. The consultation is more coaching-like than advisory: we ask questions, guide, and suggest directions, but we do not give universal answers or ready-made solutions.
The session is based on a conversation where the consultant helps broaden your view of available options. It is your space to discuss ideas, goals, and concerns. Together you will brainstorm possible next steps toward a career focused on positive impact.
Consultations are free, but we direct them to a specific profile of person. We encourage you to read the Guide, because that makes the consultation most valuable, and to fill in the form before booking.

Who are the consultants?
›They are volunteers who completed a two-stage training led by an experienced HR specialist. They are united by commitment to the idea of 80,000 hours and the desire to support others in wise career planning.
Among the consultants you will find people from different backgrounds and with different professional experience. Applications are analyzed so we can match them with people who have the most relevant knowledge and experience for the area that interests the applicant.
We are not career advisors in the traditional sense. We do not have ready-made answers or instructions. We want to search together for a path toward a career focused on positive impact. This is a partnership, not a hierarchy. Since consultants volunteer their time, please respect it and read the profile of people this service is intended for.
-
Who are they for?
›Consultations are aimed mainly at ambitious people early in their professional path: before choosing studies, during studies, or with a few years of work experience. These people face many life decisions whose consequences can strongly affect both their careers and the world.
If you are outside this group but feel such a conversation would help you, get in touch. We care about impact, not only age.
We offer consultations to people who want to use their potential as well as possible to do good. We expect initiative: consultations do not provide ready answers. Engagement in reading, searching for information, and contacting relevant people is essential. We give pointers and suggestions, but a career that helps do as much good as possible requires real work.
-
What does the process look like?
›You start by filling in the form. Based on it, we match you with a consultant who will prepare for the conversation by reviewing your application and sometimes looking for additional materials, people, internships, or job offers suited to your interests.
If we temporarily have no available consultants, you will be placed on a waiting list and we will let you know. As soon as someone is available, we will schedule the conversation.
After the conversation, you will receive materials matched to your needs, such as article links, information about institutions or grants, and contacts to people who may support you with their knowledge or experience. One session may not provide complete answers, but it can become a source of inspiration and practical knowledge about possible career paths.
After the meeting, we will ask you to fill in a short survey. We want to hear what works and what should be improved.
-
What else besides consultations?
›Where possible, we will find additional materials for you, and even potential people or organizations to contact.
We have access to a global network of researchers, experts, and leaders of top nonprofit organizations who may potentially become mentors for people who decide to create positive impact where they are most needed.
