What will we spend your example 100 zł of tax on?
For simplicity, let us assume that your 1.5% of tax is 100 zł. We can spend that amount on social media advertising that reaches people at the beginning of their professional path who are interested in social action and real impact.
We encourage them to download the free 80,000 Hours Career Guide, which helps them plan careers deliberately and choose paths with long-term positive effects, including areas such as AI safety, animal welfare, and mental health.
Our experience suggests that 100 zł lets us reach around 40 people who download the guide. We stay in touch with some of them, sharing information about free development programs, internships, and job offers.
Is that enough to change someone's career decision, or maybe their entire career?
There is no certainty, but there is statistics. If 100 people donate their 1.5% tax to us, we receive 10,000 zł. That allows up to 4,000 people to use our Career Guide. From experience, we know that in such a group there will be at least a dozen to several dozen people who use free Career Consultations or the group Discussion Program.
The scale matters. We can already reasonably expect that among such a group, some people will genuinely orient their careers toward doing good.
